He passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years 4 months and 29 days. He was a Glass Worker for Pittsburg Plate Glass Company for several years. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Henryetta and attended the Senior Citizens Center in Dewar on a daily basis. He was preceded in death by both parents, and his wife Ella Jennings. James is survived by his son, Jimmy Wayne Jennings & wife Teresa, Sapulpa; daughter, Carole Hardgrave & husband Ragen, Bixby; grandsons, Travis Jennings & wife Shanna, Mounds; Jeremy Jennings & wife Krystal, Sapulpa; Ragen Hardgrave Jr. & wife Diana, Conroe, Texas; Reed Hardgrave & wife Ginger, Conway, Arkansas; and Ross Hardgrave, Bixby; 8 great grandchildren, Trevor Jennings, Lucas Jennings, Kyndell Jennings, Ragen Hardgrave III, Raelynn Hardgrave, Hope Hardgrave, and Jacob Hardrave, brother, Eugene Jennings & wife Ellen, Colledgedale, TN; and a host of other relatives & friends. Services will be held Friday, July 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Albert Collier and Rev. Orville Hood. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
