Manning CLAUDE - Rolland E. Manning, 72, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel in Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Jess Little, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Manning was born June 12, 1931, in Henrietta, Okla. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in Topeka, Kan. He was a 40-year Mason and belonged to Claude Lodge No. 719. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean conflict and in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart with three Bronze Stars, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon. He retired from the service in 1969. He married Barbara Lumpkin-Rodgers on Aug. 17, 1973, in Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ralph Manning and wife, Paula, of Sand Springs, Okla., Ardell Rodgers and wife, Jeanette, of Berryton, Kan., and Eric Rodgers and wife, Wendy, of Amarillo; two daughters, Debria Hash and husband, Larry, of Sand Springs and Cari Fluty and husband, Tobe, of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Larry Jr., DeAnn, Tobe Jr., Steavi, Cameron, Kylee and Cassi; and a great- grandchild, Adrian. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
