Jerry died May 29, 2000, in Tulsa. Funeral services for him were held May 23 at Salem Baptist Church where he had been baptized in 1966. Officiating was Rev. Terry PITTMAN. Pallbearers were Terry Mordecai, Eddie Wilhite, Mark Wilhite, Jimmy Davis, Donnie Pangle, and Robert Brison. Interment was at Sonora Cemetery southeast of Henryetta. Jerry attended school at Salem, Graham and Henryetta. He moved to Dallas, TX, when he was 18 years old and worked there 30 years operating heavy equipment and working construction jobs until retiring in 1990. Upon his retirement, he returned to Henryetta to live. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nealy F. and Lorena Thompson MINYARD, one sister, Bessie Alene MINYARD, his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Martha Sands THOMPSON, and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Lizzie MINYARD. He is survived by: His son, Stephen Wade MINYARD of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Stephanie MINYARD ROGERS of Okmulgee, and Ann Michelle HAAS of Arlington, TX; two brothers, Thomas C. MINYARD and Anthony Wayne “Tony” MINYARD, both of Salem community; three sisters, Lou Jo KINNEY of Salem, Martha Charlena DUNLAP of Beggs, and Billie Sue ALLEN of Tahlequah; three grandsons, Alan William MINYARD, Elias Alexander HAAS, and Jaboni MINYARD; one uncle, Charles D. MINYARD of salem community; and one aunt Lucille MINYARD of Okmulgee.
