All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED MONTGOMERY - Dorothea Maness, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, October 29, 2007 in Oklahoma City. Dorothea was born November 3, 1919 in Henryetta, OK, the only child of Walter and Irene Maness. She graduated North Texas State Teachers College (now UNT) in Denton, TX, was a PEO member, and received state and city honors for her volunteerism. She and her family lived in Tulsa from 1958 to 1964. She worked extensively at the Trinity Episcopal Church Thrift Shop in Tulsa, and later established similar resale shops in Stillwater, OK, and Rockport, TX, whose proceeds benefit charities. A devout Episcopalian, she was honored as an "Outstanding Woman" by the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas and served as senior warden of her parish in Rockport. A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, November 2, at Tealridge Retirement Community, 2100 NE 140th Street in Edmond, OK. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Irene and Walter Maness; and husband, Howard A. Montgomery. She is survived by: her daughter, Diana Lauffer and husband, George of Edmond; and by her sons, David Montgomery and wife, Penny of Denver, CO and Daniel Montgomery and wife, Quanah of Ft. Worth, TX. In addition, she is survived by 4 grandchildren, Michael Lauffer and wife, Erin of Benicia, CA, Stephanie Nelson and husband, Brad of San Francisco, CA, Maria Kubiak and husband, Gerald of San Diego, CA and Jenna Montgomery of Ft. Worth; and 4 great-grandchildren, Linnea and Colin Lauffer of Benicia, CA and Charlie and Ryan Nelson of San Francisco, CA. Memorial Gifts may be made to the Mercy At Home Hospice in Oklahoma City.
