All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Hillcrest Memory Gardens--OKC OK Morgan, Roosevelt Samuel Roosevelt Samuel Morgan was born to Mr. & Mrs. Dempsey Morgan on April 2, 1929 in Harrah, Oklahoma. He graduated from Okmulgee High School; received a BTH degree in Religion from Langston University; and later attended Oklahoma City University pursuing a degree in English Literature. He accepted his call; entered the ministry and was ordained in 1948. His pastoral charge included Clearview, Okmulgee, and Seminole Oklahoma. He was appointed to Temple #39 in OKC where he served for 29 years and in 1984, he was appointed Temple #126, became District Bishop and remained faithful until 2001 when his health began to fail becoming affectionately known as Pastor Emeritus. He retired after 27 years from the City of Oklahoma City as Civil Defense Specialist. His parents, 10 siblings, and one son, Roosevelt, II preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish: his wife of 50 years and 6 months, Gracie; eight children: Elder Mark (Alycia) Morgan, Elder Clifford (Shirley) Morgan, Elder Victor (Wani) Morgan, Donald (Julia) Morgan, Ronald (Lawana) Morgan, Elder Kenneth (Evelyn) Morgan, Evangelist Deborah (Christopher) Williams and Laneva Joann Morgan Taylor; 32 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister-in law, Bishop Thomas (Beatrice) Smith, Herbert Smith, Raymond Smith and Bille (Curtis) Johnson; and 1 special aunt, Laneva Gibson. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 15th at the Church of the Living God, Temple #126 under the direction of Temple & Sons Funeral Directors, Inc. Interment is in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
