She was born Tuesday, July 15, 1919 to Edward W. and Lela (Brittain) Batterton in Viola, Arkansas. On January 14, 1939 she married Tolen E. Parker in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Survivors include: her husband, Tolen E. Parker of the home; two sons: Doel D. Parker of Choctaw and Larry T. Parker and wife, Gail of Okmulgee; one daughter: Anita Henderson and husband, Paul of Broken Arrow; one brother: Paul Batterton of Kyle, Texas; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Kelley Chapel.
