Lester W. Petree, 85, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, 

died Sunday, October 8, 2006 in Okmulgee. He was born on 

Monday, July 4, 1921 to John Wesley and Evie (Southern) 

Petree in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He served in the United States 

Army during WWII. 

	

He was preceded in death by his wife; Elizabeth Petree; son; 

Lester E. Petree and daughter; Elizabeth Ann Sadler. 

	

Survivors include: five grandchildren: Deborah Watson of 

Okmulgee; Jake Petree and Jed Petree both of Utah; Martha 

Chastain of Ft. Worth, TX and Dewayne Sadler; nine great 

grandchildren and one great great grandchild. 

	

Private Family Services will be held under the direction of the 

Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee. 

	

Military Rites will be provided by the V.F.W. Post 1189 of 

Okmulgee and V.F.W. Post 539 of Henryetta.
