All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted to: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/okmulgee/okmulgee.html Submitted to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okokmulg/ ************************************************************************ Mrs. Edith Phillips, age 82 years formerly a longtime resident of Henryetta and currently residing in Gary, Texas, died Thursday night, January 20, 2005 at her residence in Gary, Texas Mrs. Phillips was born in Obine, Tennessee on October 15, 1922 to Daniel Garfield and Maggie Mozella Lynch Rochelle. She married James Albert Phillips who died on May 29, 1998. Mrs. Phillips had lived in Gary, Texas since 1998, moving here from Henryetta, Oklahoma. While in Henryetta she was an active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. After moving to Panola County, Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Phillips was a wonderful housewife and enjoyed helping others. She is survived by three sons, Frankie Phillips and wife Mary Jo of Copan, Oklahoma, Henry James Phillips of Phoenix, Arizona, Eddie Rochelle and wife Pam of Henryetta, Oklahoma; daughter, Judy Thornburg and husband Bill of Henryetta, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Hulsey, Billy Beall, Jimmy Corsica, George Weatherby, Bill Bradley, and Terry Nix. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Lipsey Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bruce Will and Dr. Tom Campbell officiating. Services are under the direction of the Lipsey Family Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Sonora Cemetery Southeast of Henryetta, Oklahoma with Dr. Jim Ray officiating. Graveside Services are under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
