Prather Shirley I. Prather, 75, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at her home in Red Bluff. Born October 10, 1931 in Henryetta, OK to Robert and Erma Bolick. Shirley, a 28-year resident of Red Bluff, moved here from Chester, CA. Shirley worked as a researcher for Tehama Title Company for 15 years, and more recently worked for the Tehama County Sheriff's Dept. Shirley and her husband Kenneth also owned ranches in Chester, Humbug, Child's Meadows, and Paynes Creek where she loved to ride and care for her horses. Shirley's hobbies included knitting, crocheting, taking care of her rose garden, and painting in water colors and oils, and many of her paintings featured her horses. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Dan and Sandra Prather of Rancho Cordova, CA, 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Kenneth B. Prather. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Chester Cemetery, Chester, CA.
