She met and married Jim Quayle (of Illinois) in 1945 and moved with him to Tucson in 1958 with their two children, Becky and Tom. They adopted Sue, a second daughter, into the family eight years later. Together for over 50 years, the couple led proud and productive lives, opening their hearts and home to many. Dorotha and Jim quickly formed a network of friends and family, some of whom followed them to Tucson. Many locals were brought into the family as well. Their home was a relaxing and unpretentious center of activity where people met to visit and, simply put, have fun. Relatives, neighbors, work and school friends would come together there on almost any day of the week, knowing they would be warmly welcomed. In good as well as difficult times, Dorotha and Jim assisted others in any way they could. Their friendships were unconditional, and truly remarkable in their breadth and endurance. Dorotha was predeceased by her husband, Jim; grandson, Jeff; son-in-law, Danny and siblings, Maxine, Mildred, Jack and John. She is survived by Becky and Doug Craig; Tom, Tanja, and Kassandra Quayle; Sue Crain and Dan Price; Danny Jr., Lydia, Trevor, and Danielle Crain; Bryon, Stephanie, Clayton and Sydney Crain and Alison Quayle. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road.
