She was born in Okmulgee, OK, to Kate Keath and John Daniel Swartz. She grew up in Tulsa, attended Central High School, and graduated from the University of Missouri. She married Donald Miller Clark in 1942, and after World War II, they made their home in Midland, TX, Bartlesville, OK, and New Orleans, LA, where Mr. Clark died in 1958. Clarann then moved to Tulsa, where she taught business subjects at Monte Casino High School and Marquette High School. She then worked as an Executive Secretary for a number of years, and married, Guy Richard Short in 1964. Clarann and Richard were married for 29 years until his death. She was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority Alumna organization, a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and an avid bridge player. Clarann is survived by: her daughter, Nancy Clark Pruitt and her husband, Thomas Pruitt of Tulsa; her granddaughter, Sarah Pruitt of Tulsa; and her nephew, James Short of Norman; as well as many long time Tulsa friends. Bequests may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation- Eastern Oklahoma Chapter, 7170 S. Braden Ave., Suite 170, Tulsa, OK 74136.
