Sterner, Jr., 64, a resident of Okmulgee, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 in Okmulgee. He was born Monday, June 9, 1941 to Mervin J. and Ann E. (Fredrick) Sterner in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and on August 19, 1967, he married Billie Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann E. Sterner in 1993 and Mervin J. Sterner, Sr. in 1997; one sister: Nancy Sterner. Survivors include: wife: Billie Sterner of the home; one daughter: Anna Cruce of Hugo and one son: Billy Sterner of Okmulgee; two granddaughters: Arielle Cruce of Hugo and Paiden Sterner of Okmulgee; one brother: Fred Sterner of Okmulgee; two sisters: Donna Rodgers of Arkansas and Debbie Walker of Okmulgee; host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the Kelley Chapel in Okmulgee with Reverend June Thomas and Reverend Greg Keith officiating. Service are under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
