SWAN Delmar T. Swan, 86, of Henryetta, died March 2, 1995 in Henryetta. He was born February 22, 1908 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Chancey Swan and Lucy Mae Turner Swan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was retired from Sun Oil Company as a pumper in 1971 and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Swan, of the home; two children, Barbara Kirkpatrick and husband Clifford, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Glen Swan and wife Mary Ann of Tulsa; five grandchildren; one sister, Caroline Thomas of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and one brother, Edgar Swan of Monahans, Texas. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday March 6, at Shurden Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Jim Ray. Burial will be at New Senora Cemetery, southeast of Henryetta, under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta. Swan, a resident of Henryetta, was born February 22, 1909 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Chancey and Lucy May Turner Swan. He died March 2, 1995 at Henryetta. He was 86 years of age. He joined the Army on March 22, 1944 at Ft. Sill and was a veteran of World War II and was discharged on April 18, 1945 at Camp Beale, California. He married Gladys Fowler or June 25, 1938 at Cleveland, Oklahoma. He retired from Sun Oil Company as a pumper in February, 1971. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Harold Miller, Byron Remy, Dan Johnson, Burley Robertson, and Andy Mahan. Honorary pallbearerws will be Arthur Walker and Dean Ingold. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, 1995 at the Shurden Chapel officiated by Dr. Jim Ray.
