She was born June 28, 1922 in Okmulgee to Dr. James G. and Martha W. (Watson) Edwards. She received her BA and MLS in microbiology at the University of Oklahoma and retired as the Children's Librarian at the Vicksburg, library. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norman; the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Association and the Beta Phi Mu (International Library Science Honor Fraternity). Survivors include two sons. Thomas J. Tonkin of the St. Louis, MO., and John William Tonkin of Norman; one daughter, Peggy T. Page of Midlothian, VA and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Okmulgee. Burial will be Monday, Oct.. 30 at 9 a.m., in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Dr. David Seymour will officiate, Services will be under direction of the Kelley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct 30 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
