	David Wayne VanStraten, 27, a resident of Okmulgee, 

died Monday, May 22, 2006 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born 

Thursday, June 29, 1978 to David and Teresa (Blankenship) 

VanStraten in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. On September 3, 1994, he 

married Sally Howell in Okmulgee. He was a member of the 

Flowing River Church of God in Henryetta. David enjoyed 

hunting, fishing and being with his family. 

	He was preceded in death by his father: David 

VanStraten; grandparents: Jewell Mozelle and Charles 

“Monk” VanStraten. 

	Survivors include: wife: Sally VanStraten of the home; 

mother: Teresa Sherrill and husband, Robert of Salem; four 

daughters: Kaylee, Haley, Tea and Hannah VanStraten of the 

home; one sister: Tricia O’Neal and husband, Raymond of Salem; 

two step-brothers: Matt and Joe Sherrill of Salem; grandparents: 

Albert and Betty Blankenship of Okmulgee; mother-in-law: Daisy 

Leybas of Okmulgee; father-in-law: Buster Howell of Okmulgee; 

one brother-in-law: Franklin Barnett, Jr. of Okmulgee; two nephews: 

Seth and Joseph Sherrill of Salem. 

	A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 

2006 at the Flowing River Church of God in Henryetta. 

	Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 

2006 at the Flowing River Church with Reverend Robert Parker 

officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Sonora Cemetery 

under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee. 

	Pallbearers will be Franklin Barnett, Jr., Raymond O’Neal, 

Joshua Pascale, Richard McKay, Matt Sutton, Keith Cline, Wyatt 

Wixson and Jimmy Shaw.
