All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Wakeman, Dadie Lorena Dadie Lorena Wakeman, 91, of Paso Robles passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007. Mrs. Wakeman was born in November 1915 in San Angelo, Texas. Her family moved to Tulsa, Okla., when she was two years old. She attended school and graduated from high school in Okmulgee, Okla. She married Russell W. Wakeman in Tulsa, Okla. in 1947. They made their first home in Shandon and then moved to Auburn, Wash. for a couple of years. They then moved to Paso Robles in 1956. She was an accountant at the California Youth Authority, Paso Robles School for Boys for 17 years, until it closed in 1972. She transferred to Caltrans in San Luis Obispo and retired from there in 1978. She continued to be active by volunteering for the Red Cross until it moved to San Luis Obispo. She also volunteered at the Senior Center in Paso Robles. For 13 years she was also very active as a volunteer at the City Hall for the Building and Planning Department. She was a member of the Retired California State Employees Association, the Retired Public Employee Association and the First Baptist Church of Paso Robles. She is survived by a son, Steven D. Wakeman of Paso Robles, his wife Bebie and one grandson, Bryson Scott Wakeman. Mrs. Wakeman is preceded in death by her husband in 1985; her brother, Maurice Cates of Muskogee, Okla.; and two sisters Ruth Woltmann of Conway, Ark. and Rosemary Hathaway of Yukon, Okla.
