In the year of 1938, God blessed William B. and Mae Ollie [Scroggins] Grayson with a baby girl on March 21st. This beautiful daughter was named Mildred Grayson. She was the first born of this loving union, arriving in Helenbelle, Oklahoma. Mildred grew up in Okmulgee and attended Banneker Elementary School and Dunbar High School. At a young age, she accepted Christ and attended Northwest Baptist Church, where she served the Lord faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, Secretary of the Mission and a faithful choir member, until her health began to fail. In January of 1955, she married Luther Wilson and their union was blessed with six children. Mildred was a loyal employee of the Preston School for 24 years until her retirement in 2003. She leaves in God's care; her children, Carieta [Willie] Antwine, Kathy Dalcour, Alice Wilson, Sherl [Rodney] Phillips, Anthony [Lisa] Wilson and Donna Wilson, all of Okmulgee; two brothers, Joe [Erma] Grayson, Baltimore, Maryland and George [Kevyn] Grayson, Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters, Dora Henry, Joyce [Judson] Fields, Okmulgee, and Patricia [J.W.]Mosley, Oklahoma City; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with a caravan of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Also, a very special brother-in-law, Otis Wilson. The Tribute will be on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Northwest Chapel Baptist Church. Reverend Leroy Crawford, Jr., Pastor, will officiate. The Christian Committal will follow in Northwest Cemetery. You may visit Mrs. Wilson as she slumbers at the funeral home in Okmulgee on Wednesday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
