ALCHIAN Anna Alchian was born on June 22, 1921, and passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2006, at the age of 85. She was born in Oklahoma to parents, George and Perooz Thomas. In 1949 she traveled to California for what she thought was a two week vacation. However, during that vacation she met and married Leon Alchian, and began her new life in California. Anna was a loving mother and wife to her family and a great friend to many. Her greatest gift was her unconditional love and support for her family that we all will cherish forever. She was an exceptional woman whose kindness and warmth will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Leon of Fresno; her sister Helen; and her brother Paul of Oklahoma. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Post-Op Care Associates, and St. Agnes Hospice Care for the exceptional care and attention that was given to Mom during her final months. She is survived by sons, John and Leon and his wife Gina Faccinto; daughter, LeAnn Butterfield and her husband Cal; daughter, Rosalee Moreno and her husband Jesse; grandchildren, Darryl Alchian, Roxanna and Nathan Alchian, and Trevor Alchian, all of Fresno; nephews, George and Rodney Thomas; and niece, Paula Elbert, all of Oklahoma. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul Armenian Church on Thursday, September 14, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ararat Cemetery.
