Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Kingswood United Methodist Church with Dr. Wylie E. "Buff" Hearn officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Alward was born in Oklahoma to Frank and Mamie Lane. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and the Altergate Sunday school class. She also volunteered as the church secretary and taught elementary Sunday school. Mrs. Alward had also worked as a volunteer at Northwest Texas Healthcare System. She married Willard "Bud" Alward on May 8, 1954, at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Gloria Hudspeth and husband, Harvey, of Odessa; a son, Mike Alward and wife, Cindy, of Dalhart; a brother, Bob Lane of Altus, Okla.; three sisters, Wanda Litchford of Mineral Springs, Ark., and Kay Glenn and Linda Huddleston, both of Altus; and eight grandchildren, Blair Rush and Kristain Rush, both of Austin, Jennifer Alward and Jason Alward, both of Dalhart, Allison Ricketts and Zane Ricketts, both of Canyon, and Renee Ferrell and Shane Ferrell, both of Amarillo.
