All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian William Eugene Aaron July 17, 1930 October 26, 2003 Services: Thurs., Oct. 30, 3:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2003, at 3:30 p.m., at Stine Road Baptist Church for William Bill Eugene Aaron who passed away on October 26, 2003. Private interment to be held on Friday, October 31, 2003, at the San Joaquin National Veterans Cemetery in Santa Nella, California. Bill was born in Quinlan, Texas, to George and Alice Aaron. He spent his youth in Oklahoma and called this his home state. After school, he joined the Army, was honorably discharged in 1949. He then worked in several fields as an ambulance driver, mechanic, and security guard. He was a jack of all trades. His last employer was John Thornhill. One of his nicknames was High Pockets due to his 6 ft. 6 inch height and slender build. Bill was a great traveler, fisherman, and had many friends. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge on Goodman St., in Bakersfield. He met his childrens mother and they had 3 daughters, Terri, Kathy and Karen. He loved his children alot and even in his travels always returned to Bakersfield to be close to them. Survivors include daughters, Terri (Gerald) Johnson, Kathy (Frank) Manning, Karen King; brothers, Leon and Howard Aaron; and sisters, Christine Hearod and Edith Speir. He also had 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. We want to thank the staff of the Californian Care Center and Dr. Ashraf for taking care of Dad these past few years.
