Amidei, 100, of Waco died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at a local hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors in Waco, presided by the Honorable Olen Underwood, presiding judge of the 2nd Administrative Judicial Region of Texas. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Dillbeck Cemetery near Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Amidei was born Feb. 4, 1906, in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, to William W. and Martha E. Freeman Dillingham. She received her master's degree in education from TCU and retired from the Arlington ISD, where she was responsible for the implementation of its special education program. She had resided in Waco for 20 years and had lived at Stillwell Retirement Center in Waco for about 10 years. Her husband, Aeneas Maurice Amidei; seven brothers; and three sisters preceded her in death. Survivors: Children, Sylvia Naslund and husband, Arvid, of Mexia and Judge Maurice Amidei and wife, Sara Bryan Amidei, of Houston; grandchildren, Patricia Newcomb, Charles Blackwell, April Dancer, Tony Amidei and Angela Dunn; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
