All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Viola Marie Bell Services: Monday, April 2, 4 p.m. Memorial services for Viola Bell will be held at Delano Mortuary on Monday, April 2, 2001 at 4 p.m. Service will be conducted by Pastor Tom Gonzalez, Church of the Heartland. Graveside committal is private. Born Viola Marie Hampton in Oklahoma on January 29, 1914, she and her husband moved to Los Angeles in the early 1930s. The family moved to the San Joaquin Valley, Porterville area in 1942 and spent many years in farming. She later moved to Fresno and in 1994 moved to Bakersfield where she resided until her death. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Stacey; three husbands, Omer D. Clement in 1950, Harvey Mulliniks in 1962 and William T. Bell in 1986. An active church member, Viola enjoyed giving of herself to her many friends across the state. She remained active at home until suffering a stroke one month prior to her death. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Wayne and Wava Billingsley of Delano, Gail Harvey of Stockton; stepson, Bill Mulliniks of Modesto. Survivors also include three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund, Church of the Heartland, 1201 Madison Street, Delano 93215. Visitation will be Monday, April 2, 2001 from 12 Noon 3 p.m. at the chapel.
