All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Grangeville Cemetery--Armona CA Essie Ellyn Broaddus Essie Ellyn Broaddus, a Hanford resident, passed away at the age of 99 on Monday, May 29, 2006 at a Hanford health care center. She was an Oklahoma native, born on March 6, 1907. Essie was an independent, self motivated, intelligent woman. She taught herself Spanish and how to play the piano. At a young age she discovered she enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others. She endured her journey in college and became a school teacher. Essie taught in the Lemoore and Hanford schools for over 55 years. Her favorite years to teach above all were middle school. She felt middle school was a great time to instill values to children at such a young age. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, JoEllyn Bakker & husband Frank of Hanford, Earlene Cook & husband Frank of Idaho, and LaJoy Mueller of Arizona; her 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Essie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Broaddus, on March 14, 2003; her son Keith Broaddus and all her siblings. A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave., Armona. Remembrances may be sent to the Valley Christian Home, 511 E. Malone St., Hanford, CA 93230 or one's charity of choice.
