::Greenlawn Memorial Park--Bakersfield CA 

Billingsley, Wayne    

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at 10:00 
a.m. at Greenlawn Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield. Visitation 
will be held August 21, from 6-8:00 p.m. Viewing will also be 
available following the service. Wayne died from complications of 
pneumonia in a Bakersfield hospital surrounded by his family. Family 
members include his wife, Wava, to whom he had been married for 52 
years. Other immediate survivors include his son, Ken and daughter-
in-law Lisa; grandchildren, Jennifer, Marissa, Matthew and his wife, 
Carrie Billingsley. His sister-in-law, Gail Harvey, nephews, nieces, 
cousins, and friends will miss him. Wayne moved to Delano from 
Oklahoma at a young age. He attended schools in Delano and graduated 
from Delano High School in 1947. Following military service in the 
Korean War, he returned to Delano High School where he worked as a 
Teacher, a Counselor, an Administrator, and later, as a School Board 
Member. He was also the owner of several businesses in Delano and 
Bakersfield. Wayne loved his family and was very proud of them. He 
valued friendships and strived to maintain contact with many people 
throughout the years. He also loved attending Valley Baptist Church. 
he was an active member of Delano-Wasco Lodge #309 F.&A.M., and also 
belonged to numerous other organizations. Memorial donations may be 
sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3160 Geneva Street, Los
