Coker, 90, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Coker was born in Whitney and raised in Oklahoma. She married John D. Coker on Aug. 11, 1929, in Hobart, Okla. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1997. She and her husband owned and operated Weldrite Welding Service for more than 40 years before selling it in 1984. She and her husband were avid bowlers, hunters and fishers. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Granger, in 1957; and a son, Edwill Denton Coker, in 1949. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Taylor of Amarillo and Yvonne Ward of Dallas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren.
