She was married in Oklahoma to Edgar Selfridge and moved to California as a young 18 years old. She had a few children and then Divorced. Still full of life, she moved in with her baby sister Lucille in downtown San Jose. They were a team in their stilleto heels and their dance dresses on their way out for the night of dance, and that is how she met her husband Charlie also looking for a dance partner he found "Dottie", they were married 50 years and lived in the same home in Alviso. A great place to raise a family and have great neighbors who care about each other. There were ups and downs, good times and sad times, but to love each other with everything you have makes a happier family. She worked as a technician for Teledyne Microwave Electronics for 20 years and retired. She really enjoyed being retired so she could spend time with her family. This was her true calling, she loved her sisters and brothers. her children were her greatest achievement. Calvin of Oklahoma who is deceased, Patricia of Santa Clara who is deceased, Alice Sigler of Santa Rosa, Joyce Marino of Las Vegas, Allen Selfridge of Phoenix who is deceased, Judy Chew of Sacramento, Wanda Alcorn of Alviso, Barbara Hieldbrandt of Roseville, Jeannie Card of Scotia. But one of her greatest loves were her sons-in-law such as Robert Soul, Sam Owens, Jon Sigler, Paul Verga, Don Marino, Dudley Chew, Russell Alcorn, Jim Hieldbrandt. These men, some still around and some have moved on, still loved "Dottie". She always catered to the men in the family, she would always tell her daughters to take care of the men first. She had one daughter-in-law and she was the love of her son's life, her name is Elodie. Dottie's grandchildren were Vivian, Genieva, Vernon, Greta, Pam, Wayne, Brian, Dudley, Debbie, Charlie, Duane, Chris, Mark, Chuckie, Debi, Russell, Robert, Mimi, Teresa, Jamie and as for her great grandchildren, 44 so far and great great grandchildren, 8 so far. This is her legacy - her family. All her family are so proud to have had her in their life. She was a great listener and always wanted her family to be happy. What a beautiful Lady she was and will always be in everyone's eyes that knew her. Funeral service, Thursday, March 15, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Mission City Memorial Park, 420 N. Winchester Blvd. Arrangements by LIMA FAMILY SANTA CLARA.
