All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED George Washington Franklin was born the youngest of seven children on January 27, 1914 and grew up on a farm in Oklahoma. As a young man he traveled throughout the Southwest including trips to Cuba and Panama. He tried various jobs and met his future wife Martha Niswander while setting pins at a Southern California bowling alley. George worked hard for more than fifty years in a business he owned installing and cleaning carpets in Burbank, California. He and Martha raised four children and often took them on Christmas trips to visit relatives in Oklahoma and Ohio. After Martha Franklin died in 1987 George often traveled throughout the United States. Though he was strongly independent, George will be remembered for his unfailing help of others, his quick wit and ready smile. He spent the last two years in Ukiah, California near his sons and died peacefully on February 25, 2007. He was ninety-three. George is survived by his brother James Franklin, his son Roger Franklin and wife Becky Franklin, his grandchild Greg Franklin and wife Theresa Franklin, his great-grandchild Philena Franklin, his grandchild Daniel Franklin and wife Sarah Franklin, his great grandchild Ash Franklin, his son Ken Franklin and wife Susie Franklin, his grandchild Rosemary Hendrix and husband Jacob Hendrix, his grandchild Carey Franklin, his daughter Bonnie Franklin and husband Edward Finkelstein, and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
