Freitas slipped from this life into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2007. She was the second child of Wick and Oma Watson. Mabel was born in Oklahoma in 1918. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers Floyd and Raymond; her beloved husband of 57 years, Richard; two daughters Mary and Tina; and great- grandson Robin. She and Richard married in 1936, and shortly thereafter, moved from Oklahoma to Clovis where they raised their family. Mable loved to quilt, and one Christmas, made quilts for her children and grandchildren. She was not much of an outdoor person until she and Richard started going to Klamath to salmon fish. Not only could she fish with the best of them, but she also made the best smoked salmon around; which we all got to enjoy. They took their RV from the desert to the sea. They really knew how to enjoy life. She was the happiest when the family was all together. She attended The Clovis Assembly of God for over 60 years and had many friends there. She loved to knit and crochet and made many pretty items. Good people will be remembered as a Blessing... - Proverbs 10:7. What a blessing to have known and loved you. See you on the other side! She is survived by her husband, Joseph Freitas whom she married in 1997. They loved to play Kings in the Corner, and Joseph loved her cute little smile; two daughters, Norma Doyle and her husband Don, and Sue Gutierrez and her husband Sammy; one son, Richard Shrum, Jr.; stepson, Joey Freitas; stepdaughter, Rita Dean; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren, her brothers, Lloyd Watson of San Rafael, California, and Donald Watson and his wife Hubertine of Morro Bay; three sisters, Betty Sacks, Wynema Fitzpatrick, and Erma Phillips and her husband Charles, all of Selma, California; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute, 1500 E.
