All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== DAVID GALUSHA Published on August 8, 1999 The Santa Rosa Press Democratt David Edward Galusha, who was born in the Indian Territory in Oklahoma and was a carpenter who did finish work on many churches and houses in Sonoma County, died Thursday at home in the garden he planted last year. He was 98. After Oklahoma, he lived in Angwin, Modesto and Healdsburg before settling in Santa Rosa 60 years ago. He retired 20 years ago, but continued doing "free-lance" carpentry work, said his stepdaughter, Linda J. Currier. He spent five years doing carpentry work on the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sebastopol. "He loved his garden and his church and his neighbors," Currier said. "He was really a social person. His neighborhood was planning his 100th birthday, to block off the whole block." He is survived by his wife, Ruby M. Galusha of Santa Rosa; two sons, Dudley Galusha of Calistoga and LeRoy Galusha of St. Helena; two stepdaughters, Linda J. Currier of Marquette, Mich., and Sharon McPherson of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Bonnie Chapin of Ponca City, Ok. and Violet Hise of Tonkowa, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; numerous great- and great- greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Friends may call at the Eggen and Lance Mortuary today from 3 p.m to 9 p.m. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 840 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa. Interment will be at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
