Harris James R. Harris, 74, of Orland died June 15, 2000, at Enloe Medical Center in Chico. Born in Oklahoma, he was Mid-Valley resident for 15 years. He was a farmer and attended the Bible Church of Corning. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Flora Harris of Orland; five sons, James Harris, Roy Harris, Kenny Harris and Alvin Harris, all of Orland, and Leon Harris of Chico; three daughters, Mary Harris and Lenda Redding, both of Durham, and Irene Smith of Corning; one sister, Ruby Wallace of Texas; three brothers, Clyde Harris of Chico and Leroy Harris and Leon Harris, both of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Services: Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gridley- Block Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery with the Rev.
