All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens--Clovis NM Hayter, Ozella Ozella Hayter, 92, of Clovis, passed into the arms of her beloved heavenly Father, Monday, April 9, 2007. She was born Jan. 5, 1915, on a ranch north of Ralls in Crosby County, Texas, to Frank and Delia Ivey. Her family moved a lot during her childhood years to Oklahoma, Arkansas and then back to Ralls, Texas where she finished high school. Then she went to nursing school in Lubbock, Texas and later moved to Portales, N.M. to work for Dr. E.T. Hensley at his hospital. While working there, she met Albert Lewis Hayter from the Rogers community. They were married on Oct. 26, 1940, in Lovington, N.M. They moved to Clovis in 1941 where her husband worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. Ozella worked as a nurse at Clovis Memorial Hospital over the next 36 years. She had a great love for her patients and for the elderly and shut-ins whom she visited often which was a great blessing to her. Ozella was a charter member of Trinity Methodist Church in 1942 and had many beloved friends there. She and her family became members of First Baptist Church in 1961 where she remained a faithful member until her death. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry, of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Dwayne and his wife, Linda of Amarillo, Texas; one grandson, Kris; two great-grandsons, Grant and Mac of Grapevine, Texas; one brother, Ben Ivey of Fort Worth, Texas; one niece; four nephews; and a host of "Cousins by the Dozens." Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Steed-Todd Chapel, in Clovis, with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Casket bearers will be Terry Townsend, Paul Tankersley, Keith Wright, Terry Hastings, Sanford Wagner and Steve Cloud. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, Box 629, Portales, NM 88130. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home, 800 E.
