All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Edna Athalee Jordan 8/10/1910 5/7/2002 Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2002 from 1-5 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home for Edna Jordan, 91. Services will be Monday, May 13, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Pastor Martin Murdock. Edna passed away Tuesday, May 7th at home with her family by her side. She was born in Oklahoma on August 10, 1910, to Ira and Stella Sutton. She married John Henry Jordan on June 15, 1929. They lived and worked in Oklahoma before moving to Kern County in 1944. Edna was a loving homemaker and mother. She loved to cook and sew. Her greatest joy was her family. In her younger years, she was very active with her church, both in Shafter and McFarland. She has touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all of those she left behind. She was ready to move to her Heavenly Home and be with Jesus and to reunite with family and friends who went before her. During her last few days, she talked about being allowed to peak through the Pearly Gates and see her beloved husband, Henry, waiting for her in this beautiful place. She is now at peace and without pain for that we are all truly thankful. Her husband, Henry, her daughter, Mary Dixon, her parents, Ira and Stella Sutton, and two sisters, Ruby Duncan and Maxine Welsh preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Lottie Barkley and brother, John Sutton; her two daughters and son-in-laws, Faye and Terry Hopper of Taft and Carol and Paul Owens of Bakersfield. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren and spouses: Wayne and Grace Hopper, Nancy and Keith Bridges, Randy and Linda Owens, Doug Owens, Sharol and John S. Rous, Sarah and Scott Anderson, and James and Sarah Dixon. Edna also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Stephnie Hopper, John Hopper, Bethany Bridges, Leighann Bridges, Amanda Owens, Emily Owens, Kara Owens, Julia Owens, Cameron Owens, Devon Anderson, Taryn Dixon, and Michael Dixon. Also left behind are sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many loving nieces and nephews, and many good and dear friends. Our thanks go to the wonderful, caring people from Hoffmann Hospice who helped care for her and her family through the last six months of her life, making it possible for her to continue living at home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Unknown County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/okstate.html
