Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Rafnake officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Kingston was born in Oklahoma and moved with her family to New Mexico when she was a child. She was raised in the San Jon and Tucumcari areas. She lived in Portales most of her adult life. She worked for 30 years as a school bus driver for Joe Evans, later for Guy Imoe and finally for the Shearers. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church. She married W.G. "Gene'' Kingston in 1931 at Santa Rosa. He died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Archie Kingston of Ruidoso; a daughter, Christine Southern of Portales; three brothers, Ray Sanders and Willia A. Sanders, both of Portales, and Calvin Andy Sanders of Tatum; three sisters, Louella Tivis and Esther Chunn, both of Portales, and Josephine Byrd of Fort Sumner; six granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandchild. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Unknown County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/okstate.html
