All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian James Wesley Kennedy March 8, 1921 May 18, 2002 Funeral services will be held May 22nd at 10 a.m. at Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Chapel in Hanford for James Wesley Kennedy who passed away May 18th in Fresno. A graveside service will follow at Grangeville Cemetery, in Armona, CA. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening 5:00 p.m. 8 p.m. at Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Chapel. The services will be officiated by his son, Pastor Bob Kennedy of the Pixley Assembly of God Church. James went to be with the Lord on May 18, at the age of 81. He was born in Oklahoma and spent most of his life in Avenal, California where he worked for Standard Oil Company for 30 years. He served in the Coast Guard and was a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sara Kennedy; brother, J.R. Kennedy; daughter, Sue Hayes. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Allie; daughter, Marilyn and husband, Bob Borek of Clovis; son, Bob Kennedy of Pixley; daughter, Rita & husband, George Gonzalez of Bakersfield; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; 1 sister and 6 brothers. Wes was a loving husband and father and was known by all that knew him as a kind and caring person. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family whom he spent his life caring for with patience and love.
