All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Joe Frank Knoll SHAMROCK - Joe Frank Knoll, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Church of Christ in Dozier with Terry Newell of Shawnee, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Knoll was born in Shamrock and raised in Greasey Corner Junction in the Samnorwood Community, where he graduated from Samnorwood School in 1954. He received an associate degree from Clarendon College and attended West Texas State University in Canyon. He married Anita Lois Amerson of Dozier in 1959 and they moved to the Amarillo area, where he worked for Firestone Tire Company before being transferred to Oklahoma. In 1969, he moved to Knoll, where he farmed and raised livestock and managed Lutie Cotton Gin for 10 years. He also served as Collingsworth County Commissioner for eight years, on Samnorwood School Board for 12 years and in the National Guard for nine years. He was a member of the Samnorwood Lions Club, the Rotary Club in Shamrock and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Dozier Church of Christ in Dozier. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Frank "Jody" Knoll Jr. of Canyon and Steven Arnold Knoll of Hereford; a daughter, Stacey Renea Knoll Morgan of Shamrock; his mother, John Faye Green of Shamrock; a sister, Joan Inman of Amarillo; and five grandchildren.
