Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church of Childress with T.J. Pittman, elder of Primitive Baptist Church of Wellington, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. King was born in Shady Prairie, Okla. She was a charter member and involved in starting the Busy Beavers Senior Citizens in Childress. Several years ago, she was crowned Old Settlers Queen. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Wellington. She married Royal S. King in 1937 at Memphis. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Barney and Tommy King. Survivors include a son, Joe King of Childress; a brother, Charlie Corgill of Childress; three grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
