MANN 1922 - 2006 Dorothy died peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness on December 11, 2006. She was born in Oklahoma to Dovie and John Whittle, later moving to Lubbock, Texas until she came to Livermore, California in the early 1940's. Dorothy met the love of her life, Charles A. Mann, married and settled down to raise their children. During the war, she was the manager of the Vine Theatre for several years. For the next thirty-five years she worked as Chuck's bookkeeper for Mann Bros. Construction Co. Dorothy and Chuck were married for over fifty years, living life to the fullest. Enjoying sports events, good friends, card parties, square dancing, bowling and their annual trips, salmon fishing in Canada. She was an avid reader, great cook and a fine seamstress. Dorothy was much loved by her entire family. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ring; son-in-law, Richard Ring; granddaughter, Meridith Ring and grandson, Ryan Ring. She is also survived by one sister, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend, Jim Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Mann in 2003 and her son, Dennis Mann in 1993. At Dorothy's request, there will be a private interment for immediate family only. For those who wish to remember Dorothy, her charities of interest were Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael or the Leukemia/ Lymphoma Society of the Greater Bay Area.
