All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== James Whitney Mangum James Whitney Mangum, 82, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage, with Dr. Dana Moore, pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at noon in Panhandle Cemetery. Mr. Mangum was born in Canadian and moved to Panhandle in 1943 from Oklahoma. He moved to Amarillo nine years ago. He had worked for Pantex as a forklift operator for more than 35 years. He was a member of River Road Fellowship Church. He married Oma Vee McLaughlin in 1934 at Sayre, Okla. She died in 1997. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine Poole in 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Lora Etta Harris of Amarillo; a son, Rick Mangum of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight greatgreat-grandchildren. The family will be at 314 Fairlane and request memorials be to the ARC fund at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
