Montague SAN JON, N.M. - G.T. "Toop" Montague, 88, died Sunday, March 16, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dunn Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel at Tucumcari with the Rev. Bob Miller, minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park. Mr. Montague was born in Oklahoma and moved to San Jon in 1938. He and his wife, Hazel, lived in Tres Piedras before moving to San Jon. His wife died in 1994. While living in San Jon, he was active in farming as well as performing much of the construction in and around San Jon. He also was a jewelry designer. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Montague-Block of Tucumcari; a son, Gary Montague of Albuquerque; four sisters, Opal Grimes of Morton, Texas, Gertie Moore and Mozelle Carter, both of Amarillo, and Peggy Parkey of Clovis; two granddaughters; and three greatgrandchildren.
