Manley ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Robert V. Manley Jr., 55, of Annapolis, Md., formerly of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away on April 11, 2007, due to complications following a lung transplant. The oldest of four children, he was raised in Oklahoma, where he married his high school sweetheart, Wendy, in 1970. He earned degrees in chemistry and biology at Central State University in Edmond, Okla., before going on to hold several technical and management positions at Kerr McGee, Fansteel, Simplot and FMC. Through his work, he was awarded several patents in the field of chemistry. Robert was an avid sailor, and spent as much time as possible navigating the waters of the Chesapeake, Atlantic and Caribbean. He also counted cycling and woodworking among his hobbies. He is survived by his wife, Wendy; son Brian; daughter, Megan; and three grandchildren. A private memorial will be held on April 21, 2007, at the Severn Inn, Annapolis, Md., from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis, Md.
