All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Golden Gate National Cemetery--San Bruno CA Dortha McDonald St Helena Star Thursday, July 19, 2007 12:19 AM PDT Dortha Ilene McDonald passed away on July 7, 2007, at the age of 82 at Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born July 30, 1924, in Oklahoma, moved to the Napa Valley and settled in St. Helena, where she attended elementary school and graduated from St. Helena High School in 1942. She married James E. Walker and had two children, James Larry Walker of Graegle and Laura Lee Walker Carlson of Vacaville. Dortha later married Edgar McDonald of Fairfield. As well as her two children, she is survived by their spouses, Renee Walker and Kent Carlson; her grandchildren, Jeff Lozano and his wife, Lisa, and Toni Parkhurst; and six great-grandchildren; sister Lennis Giugni; brother-in-law Tom Giugni; sister Barbara Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews. She worked in human resources at the Solano County Office of Education, as well as the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose in Fairfield. She loved to sew, knit and crochet. She loved to travel with her husband, Ed, and visited various Moose Lodges all over the United States. She will be interred at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno alongside her husband, Edgar McDonald.
