All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian John William Odle Services: Thurs., Dec. 19, 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at Union Cemetery for John W. Odle, 89, who passed away December 15, 2002, in Bakersfield. Pastor Timothy Hook will officiate and military honors will be presented by the Associated Veterans Of Kern County. John, an Oklahoma native, had spent most of his life in Kern County. He was an Army veteran of WWII and had last been employed as a pumper by Exxon until his retirement after 30 years of service. John is survived by 56 immediate family members that include his loving wife of 56 years, Holley; daughters, Pauline Orton and Sharon Crider, both of Bakersfield; sons, J.D. Geer of Oklahoma, Raymond Geer of Porterville, Veachel Geer of Bakersfield and Johnny Geer of Canyon Lake; sister, Maxine Benningfield of Nevada; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and George Odle and his sisters, Hazel Thompson and Lilly Branson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Johns memory to The Alzheimers Disease Foundation Of Kern County, 5500 Olive Dr., Bakersfield, CA 93308. No visitation is scheduled.
