Orville Gene Phillips 1928 - 2008 Basham Funeral Care Visitation for 
Orville Gene Phillips will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles 
St.) on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral 
services will be held at Lamont Assembly of God (8300 Collison Ave.) 
on Wednesday afternoon, December 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will 
follow at Arvin Cemetery. Orville is survived by his wife, Betty 
Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Jay Sayrahder; daughter, 
Lynn Davidson; son, Rick Clark; five grandchildren; six great- 
grandsons; brother, John Phillips; sister, Dale Billingsley; sister 
and brother- in-law, Goldie and Gilbert Amick; brother and sister- 
in-law, Monroe and Dixie Phillips; sister and brother- in-law, Ruby 
and Phil Rushing; sister and brother-in-law, Clarice and Oscar Watson 
as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
Orville came to California from Oklahoma as a young boy. He attended 
school in Lamont and later served in the Korean War. After retiring 
from ARB Construction in 1988 as a Superintendent he and Betty began 
traveling the country in their motor home. He loved going out to the 
desert and riding his quad runner. When he wasn't away on a trip in 
the RV, Orville loved tending to his garden and trees and spending 
time with his grandchildren. He was a very active and faithful member 
of the Assembly of God Church. For additional service or floral
