All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Bakersfield Californian 19 June 2004 HELENE ROBILLARD Services: Monday, June 21, 11 a.m. Helene passed away June 15, 2004, in Delano, California, at the age of 95. She was born on December 17, 1908 in Oklahoma to Andrew and Mary Cornwell. She was the last survivor of the Cornwell family of 4 sisters and 2 brothers, her twin sister, Ellen died at 6 weeks old. Helene was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt and a friend to many. Those who knew and loved her may remember her summers together with her family at Dinky Creek and in later years spent at Santa Cruz Beach and boardwalk, her wonderful homemade bread and pies, her love for bingo and beautiful sewing, passion for baseball, especially the San Francisco Giants, her many Blue Ribbons at the Fresno Fair for her homemade bread, listening to the many talk and radio shows on KMH 580, love for playing cards with her friends especially the game of Skip-o, and most of all endless love and commitment to her family and friends. Helene loved life and she lived everyday to the fullest. She was always proud of the fact that she was the oldest living member of the American Legion in Selma, CA and held every office in that Auxiliary we were so blessed to have had her in our and were able to celebrate her 95th birthday in December 2003 with a dinner in her honor. The memories and the love she brought to our lives will live on in our hearts forever. Helen's life was her family and she was ours. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Craven; by her second husband, Edward Robillard; her sons, Laurence Craven, Edgar Craven and daughter-in-law, Muriel Craven. She is survived by her children, Janice Zaninovich ahd husband, John of Delano, Marie Ratzlaff and husband, Marvin of Fresno, Jeanne Henson and husband, Arnie of Delano, Dan Craven of Selma, Richard Robillard and wife, Joyce of Oregon and George Robillard and wife, Pat of Hesperia, CA; and two daughters-in-law, Madelyn Craven of Visalia and Eileen Cravin of Silver Spring, NV; 20 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews also survive her. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20, from 1-5 p.m. at Page Funeral Chapel, Selma, CA. Funeral service will be on Monday, June 21, at Page Funeral Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Concluding services and interment will follow at Floral Memorial Park in Selma. Special thanks to Dr. Arturo Abalos and staff for their gracious service to our mother through the years and to DRMC & Browning Manor for the past 6 weeks of wonderful service.
