All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Richard Spiller Services: Mon., Feb. 25, 11 a.m. The family of Richard Spiller invites you to a Graveside service on Monday, February 25, at 11:00 a.m. The internment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in the Hill of Vallor. Rick was born November 21, 1930, in Oklahoma and passed away February 20, 2002 in Baekrsfield, California. Rick was the loving husband of Melba Spiller for 51 years and the father of Danny and Ricky Spiller, daughter Linda and her husband Greg Morris, daughter Tressa and her husband, Charles Duncan. Rick is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Rick served his country from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War, in the U.S. Navy. He served his tour of duty on the USS Mernard. He was employed for 38 years by United Parcel Service, as a driver with an accident free record. Rick belonged to the American Legion, Post 682, also the Moose Lodge, 473. Rick, his family and friends enjoyed traveling in the RV hunting, fishing and playing dominoes. Few could compete or match him at any of these. He was a clever, cunning, and wiley competitor. He had a way of grinning when he knew he had you.
