Stroud, 78, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Stephen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Wynn officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mrs. Stroud was born in Fairview, Okla., and was an Amarillo resident for 40 years. She retired after 31 years of teaching at Alice Landergin and Lamar elementary schools. She was an active member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church where she served on various committees. An avid oil painter, Mrs. Stroud was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Kappa Iota, Amarillo Retired Teachers Association and Association of Texas Professional Educators. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 787 and was a past matron. She married Foy Lee Stroud in 1936 at Oklahoma. He died in 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Engler of San Antonio and Elizabeth McKee of Houston; four grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. They suggest memorials be to Home Endowment Fund for Order of the Eastern Star, 111 E. Division, Arlington, TX 76011.
