Stewart 86, passed away February 18, 2004. At the age of three, Jess moved with his family to Prescott from Oklahoma. He was 17 when he moved to Tucson. Despite being on his own from the age of 13, he became a successful business owner. In 1954, he founded Stewart Building and Roofing Supply. He was a life member of B.P.O.E. # 385 and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Lumbermen. His generosity and quick wit will be remembered by all who knew him. He was loved and will be missed. Jess is survived by his wife, Genese; his sons, Jim (Judy) of Tucson, Jeff (Leslie) of Wauconda, IL; sister, Jo Laflen of Mesa, and step daughter, Sharon (Jeff) Alexander of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Thelma, and daughter, Linda (Tom) Brooks. He leaves nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. There will be a gathering for family and close friends on Monday, February 23rd.
