Our Hero, Carl Otie Samuel, passed away on February 9, 2007. His beloved wife, Eunice and family, were at his side. He was born in Seminole, OK on December 1, 1913. He is survived by Eunice M. Samuel. He raised four daughters, LaJuana Blane, Adrena Jacquelyn Howell, Rasjay Hardy, Adrena Caffey and his granddaughter, Kerestin Howell. He is survived by four si sters: Pearl Winston, Nadine Booker, Naomi Cherry, and Marie Broussard. Carl was a godly man of character, integrity and strength. Carl relocated to Chino, CA in 1950. He became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1970 where he served in the Outreach and Transportation Ministry. Carl participated in the march from Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Sultana and Nevada Streets to the new Mt. Zion Baptist Church on California Street in Ontario, CA. Carl was instrumental in digging up the cornerstone of Mt. Zio n Baptist Church and hand delivered it to the new location. Carl was a rancher with a great love for horses; his equestrian skills were outstanding, and he had a great love for Botanical Gardening and loved working God's earth. He was a veteran of WWII and was our Hero. He leaves to celebrate his life six grandchildren: Carla Young, Duntell Carter, Jacoby Carter, Kerestin Howell, Justin Jackson and Korria Torres; three great-grandchildren: Diamond Morris, Warren Morris and Xavier Samuel Williams; th ree nieces: Jarrolyn Gibson, Joyce Ann Cobb and Bernice Daniels; two nephews: DeAndre Korder, Alfonso Daniels; two great-nieces, Tanya Davis and Tarasha Simms. In his home state of Oklahoma, he also has an extensive loving family of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Mt.
