A 50 Resident of San Leandro. Born February 10, 1923 in Alexia, Oklahoma, age 84. Loving mother of Barbara Reeder of Manteca and Patricia Choat of San Lorenzo and the late Billie Ray Sharp. Dear sister of May Daniels of Booneville, Arkansas, Nova Guitchula of Dublin and the late Faye Rodriguez, Curtis Norman, Roy Norman and Noel Norman. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, Violet loved the outdoors all her life. Her garden and flowers were a daily source of pleasure for her. She was an avid fisherman, sitting on a boat or riverbank was another source of happiness for her. She moved to California in 1943 from Arkansas. She started working at the Fifth Wheel in San Leandro as a waitress and cook. She went on to own two cafes of her own with the last one on Marina Blvd called Vi's Café. She was a very hard worker all her life. She retired in 1977 and discovered garage sales and flea markers and spent the rest of her days going to and having garage sales and tending to her beloved garden and flowers and occasional trips to Reno. Funeral will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Reflection Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home with burial to follow.
