Tinsley Oklahoma farm boy, sweet-talking soldier, hard- working copper miner, and loving family man, died August 3, 2006 at the age of 74, after a courageous and sudden battle with leukemia. Born on a farm in Fitzhugh, OK, he was one of 16 children. He went from high school to Korea War veteran by the time he was 20. Dennis met the love of his life, Delaine Walker, on a blind date and sweet talked her into marrying him in 1952. 54 years later, she was still at his side when he died. They moved to Arizona in 1953 where he was one of the first men to work at the Asarco Silver Bell Mine. For the next 38 years, Dennis lived, worked his way up to Lead Electrician and raised his two daughters, Denise and Patricia in Silver Bell, the most enriching and idyllic of times. When the mine closed and the town began to disappear, Dennis and Delaine moved to Tucson where he retired in 1992. His friends knew him as a man of his word. His family knew him as Papa. He was always willing to help someone fix something. Dennis enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, poker, barbequing ribs and being with his family. He is loved and survived by his wife, Delaine; daughters, Denise Tinsley Bram (Gary) and Patricia Garcia (Armando); his brother, Lee (Anne); four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a remarkable man in many ways and all who knew him will miss him. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Road, on Wednesday, August 9th at 3:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society so that others may live. I'm sorry I can't sit next to you today. But don't feel sad. It's okay. I am with you in another way. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue.
